Shirley Stuby

Shirley Stuby is a retired banker who took the plunge and started her writing career. Over the past several years, she published several short stories in the local Hometown magazine. In 2018, she was also published in a national magazine, Country Extra Magazine.

Shirley lives in rural Pennsylvania with her husband of 53 years on a small "farmette" near Schellsburg. In 2004 they purchased a pair of miniature donkeys. A baby donkey born a few years later became the inspiration for a children's book.

In 2017, for the 86th Annual Writer's Digest writing competition, Shirley won Honorable Mention for an article titled Kilroy was Here.

In 2018, for the 87th Annual competition, she also won Honorable Mention for the article titled Is Morse Code Dead?
